Our Acworth Sedation Dentists offer a Variety of Options
We are proud to have a team of highly-skilled sedation dentists at Acworth Center for Family Dentistry who provide a variety of sleep and/or sedation dentistry procedures, including:
IV conscious sedation dentistry:
During this procedure, patients do not fall asleep; they experience deep relaxation and are aware of their surroundings. Most patients typically recover in approximately 30 minutes; however, they will experience drowsiness and should arrange for transportation to and from their appointments.
Nitrous oxide:
This treatment, also known as “laughing gas,” blends oxygen and nitrous oxide gases administered by our experienced sedation dentists to patients via a mask placed over the nose, providing a deep feeling of calm and relaxation after just a few breaths. This procedure increases the pain threshold, and patients remain relaxed and fully-conscious during their appointments.
Oral conscious sedation dentistry:
This type of sedation dentistry is administered to patients who experience intense anxiety, but do not require IV sedation. Patients take a prescribed medication that will relax them prior to their visit. Please note that this is not a form of “sleep dentistry,” as patients will remain awake after taking this oral sedative, although they will experience a feeling of deep calm during treatment.
To further your relaxation, our state-of-the-art treatment rooms are equipped with blankets, pillows, and conveniently-located HD TVs on the ceiling. Your visit to the dentist can be as painless and as worry-free as setting up your next appointment!
